He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund. His main fields of work include innovation management, network engagement, and technology transfer, always with a focus on the digital economy, complex systems, and data.

ChatGPT Plus Federico Milani serves as Deputy Head of the Data Policy and Innovation Unit at the European Commission, where the focus is on driving the data economy within the Digital Single Market to promote employment and social well-being. Milani has held several key positions within the European Commission, including Deputy Head of the Data Applications and Creativity Unit, which fosters research and innovation in human-machine interfaces and the cultural and creative industries, and Deputy Head of the Cultural Heritage and Technology Enhanced Learning Unit, aimed at advancing eLearning and preserving digital cultural resources. He also contributed to the eContent and Safer Internet Unit, promoting the use of European digital content across various sectors. Prior to his time at the European Commission, Milani worked as a researcher and plasma shape control engineer for nuclear fusion at the Jet Joint Undertaking. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Aston University and a degree in Electronic Engineering (Dottore in Ingegneria Elettronica) from the University of Padua.

Javier Valiño graduated in Telecommunications Engineering with a double specialization (Telematics and Radiocommunications) from the University of Cantabria in 2007. He completed his Final Degree Project in the field of point source detection in collaboration with the Plank project of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Physics Department of the University of Cantabria. He also holds an MBA with a focus on Project Management from IEBS. He worked as a networks and systems engineer, leading commercial innovation projects related to IoT and 4G/5G (FP7 projects such as EARTH, EXALTED, TALOS, and MiWaveS; H2020 projects like Flex5GWare; and Celtic Plus projects such as SHARING and TILAS, acting as project coordinator and receiving the Celtic Plus Excellence Award, among others). In 2016, he joined Atos Research and Innovation, where he served as head of the Energy, Climate, and Decarbonization Unit. He coordinated the H2020 projects inteGRIDy and Horizon Europe OMEGA-X, as well as overseeing Atos’s participation in a portfolio of around 20 additional projects. In February 2024, he joined the Eclipse Foundation as Program Manager for Dataspaces, leveraging his knowledge of the Dataspaces ecosystem gained through intensive collaboration with both IDSA and Gaia-X.

As head of the Spanish Hub of the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and director of the technical secretariat of BAIDATA, he drives collaboration and the development of innovative solutions in this area.

Marta Rodríguez Arciniega is a professional with over 10 years of experience in the data field. She currently works at Telefónica, advising clients on projects involving advanced technologies such as IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Governance. She leads the identification of use cases and defines their implementation tailored to each client’s specific needs. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Deusto Business School, an MBA in Executive Development, a Master's in AI and Innovation, and the Data Space Fundamentals certification from IDSA.

Dr. Óscar Lázaro is the Director of Innovalia. He has supported the creation of the European Commission’s I4MS DIH Programme and leads the WEF Advanced Manufacturing HUB (AMHUB) and the IDSA Hub in Spain. He is a board member of BAIDATA and the EIT Digital Spanish CLC, and actively participates in the activities of the Data Space Support Centre (DSSC) and the Digital Factory Alliance (DFA), where he led the launch of the Data Space 4.0 initiative. He represents Innovalia in EFFRA, GAIA-X, and BDVA, and led the EU’s OpenDEI think tank on multilateral digital value chains.

Lena Hegel is a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISST), where she leads several projects in the fields of healthcare data platforms and ecosystems, health data spaces, data sovereignty, healthcare applications, and data processing. With a background in medical technology, she bridges the gap between technical components and the user perspective. She also focuses on the development of business models and the sustainability of the data space solutions being developed.

Trained as a telecommunications engineer and music composer in the 1990s, his background combines technique and technology, creativity and innovation — all in service of a demanding client. For 15 years, he worked on the digital transformation of the power grid, managing a laboratory that also supported major electric utilities in specifying and testing devices for Smart Grids. Now, at ASIMOB, he is focused on the digital transformation of road infrastructure, helping public administrations with maintenance and the automatic evaluation of road safety. This is achieved through the development and application of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Data Analytics, and sensors in the processes required for that transformation.

A restless and dynamic entrepreneur, he promotes innovative models of interaction between ICT, productivity, and people through his work at Igarle. He is a firm believer in the benefits of inter-company cooperation, even within competitive environments. He serves on the Board of Directors of several companies in the ICT sector. Emilio Martín-González holds a degree in Computer Engineering and is the Director of the Tech&Data team at NWorld. He has extensive experience in Data & Analytics, having led business development, data strategy, and governance teams across various sectors such as energy, industry, and hospitality. Previously, he was responsible for teams focused on Big Data development, Data Architecture, Business Intelligence, and Data Management, working on both on-premise and cloud-based solutions. His responsibilities spanned end-to-end, from drafting proposals to managing their execution and fostering collaboration with technology partners.

Joseba Ruiz is the Data & AI Director at Inetum Norte, a European leader in digital services and technological development, and a professor of Analytics and Data Science at ESDEN Business School. Trained as a computer engineer at UPV-EHU, he also holds several certifications, including the Applied Data Science program (MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology), a master's degree in Big Data & Business Intelligence (University of Deusto), and a master's degree in Digital Marketing and E-commerce (EAE Business School), among others. With a solid background in banking, insurance, and entrepreneurship, he has driven projects focused on waste reduction and supply chain efficiency, such as Coollogger, specialized in thermal traceability, and Ozeano, focused on fruit preservation. At CLCircular, he develops solutions based on IoT sensors and blockchain technology, with a clear focus on the circular economy. The company’s model is based on the rental, recovery, and reuse of sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, and location in real time during the transport of perishable goods. This helps reduce losses, improve traceability, and minimize environmental impact. Christian Cobas is the Director General of the Data Office of Castilla-La Mancha, under the First Vice Presidency of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. He combines his institutional role with teaching in continuing education programs within the INEA information system, aimed at professionals in the regional administration. With a solid track record in public sector digitalization, he previously served as Head of the Electronic Administration Services Department at the General Directorate of Digital Health, within the Ministry of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid. He holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and a master’s in Business Administration & Marketing, which has enabled him to develop a technical profile with a strategic vision focused on the digital transformation of public administrations.

Dr. Dominik Rohrmus holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the industrial and healthcare sectors before joining Siemens in 2005, where he held various positions in manufacturing and production development. In 2009, he founded the corporate program for sustainable production engineering. Starting in 2013, he led the group responsible for shop floor equipment and future standardization for Siemens factories worldwide, with implementation at a Siemens Energy plant in the Czech Republic. Since 2016, Dominik has also served as CTO of the German non-profit and pre-competitive association Labs Network Industrie 4.0 e.V. (LNI 4.0), which promotes digital transformation across a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on SMEs. In 2021, Dominik became Chief Operating Officer of Gaia-X, the trusted data ecosystem association, which reached 350 members within one year. In 2022, he returned to LNI 4.0 as Chief Technology Officer, focusing on the internationalization of data ecosystems, as well as testing and validation. Dominik is a member of several industry trade associations, the International Manufacturing-X Council, and supports international industrial standardization.

French entrepreneur and co-CEO of Dawex, Laurent Lafaye has a recognized track record in the field of the data economy and regularly speaks to decision-makers about the creation of data ecosystems and data spaces, as well as the challenges of data circulation — from data trading to the development of data hubs and data marketplaces. Dawex is a leader in data exchange solutions, enabling the distribution or sharing of data products with trust, for any business use case, while complying with data regulations. Dawex technology allows organizations to create data ecosystems and data spaces to address economic, environmental, and decarbonization challenges. In 2020, Dawex received the Tech Pioneer award from the World Economic Forum, joined the Global Future Council on Data Policy, and spoke in Davos in 2022 on building trust in data exchanges. Ioseba A. Villate is an engineer and currently heads the Industry 4.0 area at GHI Smart Furnaces. His work focuses on applying digital technologies to optimize industrial furnaces. Together with his team, he uses data analysis to develop services that help clients—especially in the aluminum recycling sector—improve their processes. He has previous experience in automation and data projects at organizations such as Tecnalia, BCAM, and Sacyr.

Pablo is a Telecommunications Technical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Integral Logistics from the Basque Institute of Logistics and Mobility, and is certified as a Dangerous Goods Advisor – ADR by the Basque Government. With a strong professional background, he has worked at companies such as Philips Ibérica, Arthur Andersen Consulting, and Grupo Logístico Urizar, eventually becoming owner and manager of ICF Logística. Since 2018, he has specialized in Artificial Intelligence projects applied to Industry and Supply Chain. He is an active professor in the Master’s program in Integral Logistics at IVL and has extensive teaching experience at various institutions and universities, including Deusto and Mondragón. He has led the development of logistics projects and infrastructure studies for governments such as the Basque, La Rioja, and Navarra administrations.
